Alright, alright. Here's some explaining. So I run a shop on Gaia. Here's some of the most recent art for it, though the shop has been running since late 04'. Uhrr... GeNtech Labs: Project LAYHR. Yes, it's also a story concept of mine, so the two sort of... well, I wouldn't say they co-exist, but I did adapt a version for the Gaia-shop. Possibly stupid of me, but it's helped me figure out the main story itself more, since running a shop forces me to continue to think about it. o3o A note on the roman numerals: This is probably the dumbest thing I have ever done. Why? Because it makes everyone think, oh, olol, FF7!!!111eleven! (..that and the fire-tails, but shhh, I've been drawing those since I was in 6th grade.) The actual Project does not use roman numerals at all; but for the longest time, I didn't know what they used. So, because I needed something, I picked a numerical system as a 'stand-in' of sorts. Though I've figured out the actual system in a vague sort of sense, (which is more symbolic, involving circles and dots in an orbital-style diagram to represent numbers) this way of numbering stuck for the shop-verse, and doesn't look like it'd be easy to switch over any time soon. e__e Also: I know it should be 'VIII' instead of 'IIX', but believe me, there's an in-shopverse reason for that. XD;; And believe it or not, the eye that appears to be 'normal' is actually his bum eye; Layhr eyes are supposed to glow, and for some reason any eye that doesn't display this trait can't see as well as it would otherwise. Project LAYHR itself is basically a whole mess of genetically engineered beasties, and these guys are just a small sampling of 'em. I've since come to a better understanding of Layhr genetics and mutation-rates, and they've gotten more interesting- I still love these guy's designs, though. Hmm. Oh, and about the title: 'Bleeding Tears' was an original nickname for the top one up there, because of the markings on his face. Jaded Glory refers to the one in the middle, and though the third one doesn't have a particular nickname in story-verse, I can't help but want to refer to him as Guy Fawkes, as a V for Vendetta reference. XD;;; (They're all male by the way.) Even though other people RP these particular characters in the shop, their original designs and concepts are mine. I think the roman numeral system is, while not an ideal system since you've figured out a better one, not an absolutely terrible one. It's a much better thing than just... letting people 'name' their Layhr. Or putting 1, 2, 3 etc on the shoulders. Because that's just odd. But, I'm sure that everyone in the thread wouldn't mind at all if you started substituting your new system in place of the numerical system, so long as you told them what numbers the shapes referred to. XD I think it'd be pretty damn cool. :B
Aaahahahaha Guy Fawkes.
