Whoah, first time in a long time I've actually finished a proper picture!

Alright you guys, story time. 8| Those of you who've been watching me for a really long time might remember these guys; I haven't done art of them in a looong while. It's actually a species I came up with when I was twelve, and they've stuck around ever since then- I'm trying to figure out a 'proper' species name for them (possibly something along the lines of eokitch?) but, being twelve when I named them, have always just referred to them colloquially as 'rainbowtigers'. :B

Anyway! They actually are/were a species in Coreverse, though I don't know what their range is now; I do know there's an ancient temple/shrine type area that Jawz occasionally visits in the forest that has two massive statues of these guys; it's literally centuries old, but I don't think there are any in the area anymore. Another fun fact is that these guys are actually where all those flame-tail traits in the Layhr stem from; though there's a few species in Coreverse that display energy-traits, I think these were the main inspiration (either genetically or conceptually) for the scientists to consider including the trait in Layhr. At least, that's been my understanding of it.

There's actually some neat little abilities/traits of these guys, but I may save that for a proper species reference. ;D

Now, as for this picture itself! I actually tried a few new things here, including a new shading/highlighting technique; it was a lot clearer before I changed the colors around (when I was initially shading, I did it all on a one-color base for simplicity's sake) but I still really like how it came out, and will probably continue doing this in the future. 8> I'm also really, reaaaallly happy with the background, even though I know it's not super-detailed; but for not having done a proper background in so long I think it's a very good start, and also, I just think it's pretty. XDD;;;;

My initial idea is that this guy was going after some kind of lizard-thing among the rocks, but considering you can't see much of it, I am starting to think that perhaps only the tail is left. 8|;;; So perhaps the lizard itself got away. Either way though, this guy is happy!
