Ted Ref - 2008

Refsheets gogogo! 8O

SO HERE WE HAVE~ Ted. 8| Which is not actually his name, but he refused outright to tell me that, so he wound up being called 'Ted' instead. Apparently this makes it harder to trace him back to the company who created him, and therefore harder to find out any flaws or weaknesses.

Yep, he's pretty spiky. 8'D

He and Nova often partner up, and in fact, she'll call him if she has a particularly challenging problem to solve. They seem to be friends as well as co-workers, despite the fact that neither of them are the most personable of individuals. 8D; In fact, that's probably why. They do respect eachother, though, and will gladly watch eachother's backs.

Additional notes not found on ref:
- his teeth are the same surgical-grade metal as the syringes and claws, and yes, they are thin and blade-like.
- his ears are mostly just cartilage and fluff. They're very long, and the fur obscures any inner-ear from being seen.
- the fur along most of his body is pretty short, and he's very lean/muscular; the only places where the fur is a bit longer is really his ears and the end of his tail, where there's even more spikies hidden beneath. 8'D
- the IV-like tubes run on both sides from beneath his lower jaw to underneath his armpits. Fluid runs through them, though I'm not sure if it's blood or something else. :x
- a bit more on the syringes: essentially, they're set to 'trigger' on contact, so whenever they strike anything with sufficient force they inject their payload. The substance inside the syringes is actually generated by Ted's own body, and seems to replenish by itself. The substance works by numbing an effected area to the point where it's uncoordinated and essentially useless; think about how numb your face gets when you've gone to the dentist and can't even speak without drooling, and that'll give you a pretty good idea. Now imagine trying to walk on a leg like that or fight. 8D;;
- He's not usually the type to start fights unless he has to, and it can be hard to engage him just for the fact that, if you do charge him, he'll just kinda stand there and let you jab yourself on his spikes, which is usually effective enough deterrent. 8D; He's very dangerous when he does get into it, though, or if it's part of a job.
- Has mild psychic ability, though this apparently only works with other animal-types. He can glean bits of information from their minds, a useful trick when he needs to find something out.

As far as character interactions go, I've already mentioned he and Nova often partner up. There's also another Chimaera he works with on occasion, and the two make a brutal team. Kaerith greatly dislikes him, and has actually engaged him in a fight more than once- he originally encountered her just on business, but the two seem to hold a grudge that has continued long since that mission was over, and he'll actively harass her/be a thorn in her side if the two cross paths. _{She did actually beat him the first time they fought, though. He and Nova were circling and she mock-charged him, diving at the last second and sliding beneath him before bringing up her arms to slam against his ribs, knocking him sideways. He wasn't expecting that, and had actually just stood there to see if she'd stop/let her slam into his spikes if she didn't. She still managed to get smacked in the face by the ones on his tail as he went flying, though, hence the nickname 'damn porcupine' she gave him. XD;; He also gets called spiky ass.}

The art for this was actually done months and months ago, but I just finally got around to finishing the colors and typing this up. :> *likes how it turned out!*
